the sea never stops
For MargaretGypsy
— where the horizon didn’t hold you.
the sea never stops
it just
arrives
in smaller ways
we rest
where it
almost ends
and wait
as the hum
sends waves
without knowing
what part of us
has already
gone
blue finds you
before you look for it
held
between distance
and breath
your toes
first
as if the water
might remember you
the cold
not taking
just asking
then ankles
then the slow
unfolding
of something in you
loosening
like it always does
here
behind it
the mountains
not moving
but never asking you
to stay
the tide
not pulling
just
holding
long enough
for your body
to soften
into it
you used to think
peace
meant stopping
but the sea
never asked that
so you learned
to stay
just long enough
to feel it
and then
to go
without losing
anything
the sea never stops
and neither do you
just
arriving
If these words have meant something to you,
you can step a little closer by becoming a paid subscriber to us.
If you become a paid subscriber to me before the end of April,
I’ll write you a poem.
It helps support the writing,
and gives you access to a set of pieces
that live just inside.
I’m always open to thoughtful writing collaborations.
Something more?
Nothing truly leaves — it just changes how it stays.
If something moved in you — a silence that whispered — I’d love to hear it below, or in my DM’s.

Felt like I was carried on top of a calm, rolling wave.
Master.
Imagine being so good that people understanding maybe 70% of your work already makes you a Master.
