cracks
everyone
keeps thanking
the lighthouse
for its light
nobody asks
how many storms
it stood through
or how often
it mistook
its own shaking
for failure
even the sea
never saw
the cracks
facing inland
then
last night
they only noticed
the darkness
when
it finally
went out
