The squidgy underfoot was the signal. The plunk was the warning. The shimmy was the disruption. The clatter was the aftermath. The sproing remains under investigation.
The journey continues. The findings are inconclusive. The dignity is temporarily lost. The coffee is cold. The sock is missing. The confidence is mostly squidgy.
The poems and stories are the process. The process is the journey. The journey is the practice.
This was such fun! The way you strung together all those sounds into one gloriously squidgy Wednesday felt like a mischievous Dr. Seuss fever dream. Loved every bit of the chaotic delight.
Thanks Jeanne! This was part childhood memory and creation of the way we used ti have fun with words and language, and it does feel magical. A lovely reflection 😊
Haha this is too funny! Love the image too. Reminds me of my early days in LA, moving apartments, balancing a mattress and a bunch of other stuff on top of my Toyota Scion. Praying the friend of a friend with the truck would come through for me. Eventually I learned that you could rent a U-Haul van for $19, which was probably one of the smartest investments I've ever made.
That was AMAZING!!! Loved this! You are SO creative! :D
Thank you, Laura! It was fun to write!
It was literally brilliant! I was gonna try but after reading what you wrote, it felt like a mic drop! LOL! It was truly perfect!
Ohhh please try! A few others have like @Sattie R who did a magnificent and completely different take on it
YES!!! 🙌🏻 Thank you so much! 😊
Ok … I’ll give it a shot and tag you! 🤩
Yay!

Such a great take on the prompt, Laura! Loved and was giggling all the way through!

Thank you, Vlad! Really pleased to have a little squidginess on the journey with you!
The squidginess is the texture of the path. Grateful to share it with you. 🙏
Brilliant! Looks like I've missed a fun prompt. <3
Thank you, Petra!
This is still open if you want to join in!
I'd love to see how you shimmy!
Awesome! I'm working on it. Maybe tomorrow...
Yay!!! Looking forward to it Petra and tag me so I don't miss it.
Will do! <3
That was so much fun to read! I hope you find that sock.
Thanks Dave! Still searching!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. 😄
Somehow it captures the exact feeling of those days when nothing catastrophic happens and yet everything feels mildly chaotic and slightly off.
"Confidence: Mostly squidgy" may be one of my favorite lines.
And honestly, I agree:
Plunks should probably be respected. 🫶
Thanks for sharing a little langauge fun with me, Per LEY!
I love it managed to work out for you! It was a bit chaotic trying to write and hoping it still made sense.
I think I might be using that phrase on my next management report - unfortunately I have other less fund things to write too!
“Respect the Plunks” could fast become my new desktop motto!
This made me laugh. 😄
I loved our little language exchange, and the chaos translated beautifully.
And honestly, I think “Respect the Plunks” contains more wisdom than most management reports.🫶
hehe!
It made me think of the 90’s stress management toys for execs!

Thank you!
I love the referene to Dr Seuss and completely get it!
a gloriously squidgy and mischievous Wednesday sounds just like a perfect one!
There is something magical in the repetition of words. Like stories, or poems shaped by them. Evocative.
Thanks Jeanne! This was part childhood memory and creation of the way we used ti have fun with words and language, and it does feel magical. A lovely reflection 😊
So clever. Especially liked the ending.
Thank you! It was fun trying to make it all work and make sense!

Yes! It really does feel like moving back day before hiring vans!
Onomatopoeia much?
Not their days James. Everything got a bit too squidgy!
How about you?
Got many plunks going on?
I've got fwour splunks.
Thanks for asking.
This was fun to read. I was hearing the sounds when I read the words. I saved this prompt to give it a whirl on the weekend.
Haha - Can’t wait to see it!
