The joys of waking up on Earth are actually quite simple. Beautiful poem Mark.

Thank you, and a wonderful comment - yes they are and we need to realise that a little more!

This is my kind of morning! I love,

"perhaps

this is

what peace

has always

looked like"

I think you might just be right. <3

The tiny window drama and the bee deciding on lavender made me way too fond of this morning, honestly. I’m here for a Saturday where the kettle dawdles, coffee cools a little, and nobody bullies the day into hurrying up. Very suspicious peace, but I’ll take it.

Mark, this felt less like a poem and more like an invitation to notice what was always here.

I lingered over, “the air carrying both without choosing between them.” There is such quiet wisdom in that image. The world does not seem troubled by opposites. It simply holds them until they become part of the same breath.

Perhaps that is why the ending feels so true. Peace is rarely an extraordinary arrival. More often, it is the moment we stop asking the ordinary to become something else.

A beautiful reminder that enoughness has a rhythm of its own.

Thank you, Dipti. I love the depth you perceive when reading my words. Your words - ok becoming part of the same breath - were just how I was feeling it. Peace, rarely is something big or extraordinary. It's the smaller moments and even the times when nothing happens at all can give us the best chance of peace.

A lovely reflection and reading. Thank you.

Thank you, Mark.

I sometimes wonder if peace is not something we find, but something that is left behind when the mind finally stops negotiating with what is.

The extraordinary has a way of announcing itself. The ordinary simply waits to be noticed.

Your poem trusted that quiet waiting, and I think that is why it lingered with me long after I had finished reading it.

I really enjoyed reading this poem. It reminded me that peace is simply not demanding anything of a moment, but letting it be—light finding the edge of the table before it finds the room. :)

Thank you, Sama!

I used to think finding peace meant searching for it. A place, a person, an activity to help it, but sometimes all that’s needed is to slow down and not demanding anything - just letting it be :)
