nothing asked
the steps
the river
the open sky
none of it
asked you
to explain
only
to stay
higher now
where the air
forgets
how to hold
light
barely knows
your name
breath
arriving
too early
leaving
before the body
calls it back
the path
less certain now
just
stone
and distance
and somewhere beneath that
a warmth
small enough
to miss
if you kept
looking forward
something in you
still moving
not toward
just
with
the river below
still carrying light
the sky
not needing
an answer
only
your weight
beside it

If you’ve been enjoying these quieter pieces, this is a gentle invitation to step a little closer.
Somewhere to pause for a while.
Step inside.
I’m always open to thoughtful writing collaborations.
Something more from me?
Nothing truly leaves — it just changes how it stays.

Again...the image and poem flow together....this part stays:
"the river below
still carrying light
the sky
not needing
an answer"
What lovely compositions!
Kudos.
Keep writing more, please.
